Sir Maurice Vincent Wilkes at the side of the EDSAC machine 1948/9
(Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator)

Introduction to Programming & User Guide for the EDSAC c1954
This is the personal copy of Dr. Victor W.D. Hale, which is signed by Maurice Wilkes.
The book was sent to Victor on 13th December 1954 by Eric Mutch, as Prof Hartree had asked.
With the accompanying letter and notes. (They were friends and had worked on EDSAC.)
It sounds as they were all excited with the working of the new 'B' register in August 1954.
Eric states that the new 'B' register has revolutionised the programming of EDSAC.
These were sent from Cambridge University Maths Labs to Hull University Maths Dept.
